Russellville Seventh-day Adventist Church

Over 120 years of faith in Russellville.

For more than 120 years, the Russellville Seventh-day Adventist Church has stood as a quiet pillar of faith in the heart of the River Valley. Since 1904, our congregation has gathered in worship, upheld the teachings of Scripture, and borne witness to the steadfast love of Christ within this growing city we call home.

Through wars and peace, hardship and plenty, generations of believers have walked through our doors — families who built their lives here, students who found direction here, and neighbors who discovered hope within these walls. The world has changed, yet the message remains the same: Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Our heritage is not measured in brick or timber, but in the countless prayers offered, the friendships formed, and the lives transformed through the gospel we cherish. We are a people rooted in truth, bound by grace, and ever looking toward the blessed hope of His return.

As the years unfold, we continue the sacred charge entrusted to us in 1904 — to lift high the name of Jesus, to love our community faithfully, and to shine His light in Russellville and beyond.

We are a friendly, Bible-based church family serving the River Valley community of Russellville, Arkansas. Each week we come together to worship, study God’s Word, and encourage one another in faith. Our mission is to help people grow closer to Jesus, serve our neighbors with compassion, and prepare for His soon return.

We invite you to join us for Sabbath School at 9:30 AM and our Worship Service at 11:00 AM each Saturday.

After the service, we share a delicious fellowship potluck lunch where guests are warmly invited to stay and enjoy a meal together. You will find a welcoming church family, uplifting music, and Christ-centered teaching for all ages.

This spirit of faith and fellowship reflects the worldwide family of Seventh-day Adventist believers.

When the Seventh-day Adventist Church is described as a mainstream Protestant church, it simply means that Adventists are:

  • Christian and Protestant, not a fringe or isolated group.
  • Biblically based and centered on Jesus Christ.
  • Part of the broader Protestant tradition, while holding distinct teachings — such as the blessing of the seventh-day Sabbath and the hope of Christ’s soon return.

In harmony with the worldwide Seventh-day Adventist Church, we hold these biblical teachings as the foundation of our faith:

This We Believe

  • In a personal God – Hebrews 1:1-3
  • In Jesus Christ, the divine Son of God and our Savior – John 1:1-3; Hebrews 7:25
  • In the Holy Spirit, the divine Comforter – John 15:26
  • In regeneration and new birth through acceptance of the gospel – John 3:1-7; 2 Corinthians 5:17-21
  • That man by nature is mortal – Job 4:17; 1 Timothy 6:15-18
  • That immortality and eternal life are a gift of God received through Christ – Romans 6:23
  • That righteousness comes by faith – Romans 4:3-5
  • That the law of the Ten Commandments is the standard of righteousness by which we will be judged and which all Christians are to obey – James 2:10-12; Exodus 20:3-17
  • That the original seventh-day Sabbath was never changed by divine authority and therefore all Christians are to keep it holy – Genesis 2:2-3
  • In supporting the gospel through tithes and offerings – Leviticus 4:30-32; Malachi 3:8-11; Matthew 23:23
  • In baptism by immersion – Mark 1:9-10; Romans 6:3-5
  • In the ordinance of humility and the Lord’s Supper – John 13:4-17; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26
  • In the gifts of the Spirit of prophecy – Ephesians 4:8, 11; Revelation 19:10
  • In discarding unhealthful practices such as intoxicants, tobacco, and unclean meats – Proverbs 23:29-32; 1 Corinthians 3:16-17; Deuteronomy 14:3-20; Isaiah 66:15-17
  • That followers of Jesus should manifest true Christian modesty in dress and deportment and shun all questionable worldly amusements – 1 Timothy 2:9-10; James 1:27
  • That the dead are in an unconscious state – Ecclesiastes 9:5; John 11:11-14; Matthew 24:30

The Seventh-day Adventist Church is a mainstream Protestant denomination with approximately 19 million members worldwide, including more than one million in North America. The Church seeks to enhance the quality of life for people everywhere and to proclaim the good news that Jesus is coming again soon.

Adventists believe a Trinity of three Persons — the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit — make up one God. Salvation became possible when Jesus, the Son, came to earth as a baby in Bethlehem and lived a sinless life in accordance with the Father’s will. When Jesus was crucified for the sins of the world and arose from the dead on the third day, victory was won for all who believe.

When He returned to heaven following the resurrection, Jesus left the Holy Spirit to serve as our Comforter and Counselor. He promised to return to earth a second time to complete His plan of salvation and take His people home.

Adventists believe that God cares about every part of human life. The way we live, eat, speak, think, and treat one another reflects His plan for our wholeness. Our families, children, work, talents, resources, and time all matter deeply to Him.

We invite you to join us this Sabbath — worship with us, fellowship with us, and experience the warmth of a church family that has served Russellville with faith and fellowship since 1904. Our families, our children, our jobs, our talents, our money, and our time are all important to Him.
